Suminagashi NYC
Inspired by the ancient Japanese tradition of Suminagashi, this hands-on workshop explores the meditative art of floating ink on water. With the lightest touch, ink moves across the surface, creating organic patterns, ripples, and unexpected layers.
Together, we’ll learn the history of Suminagashi and experiment with sumi inks, learning how water, movement, and gesture come together to create one-of-a-kind marbled compositions. The process is intuitive and contemplative, inviting us to slow down, observe, and embrace the beauty of what cannot be controlled.
