The Art Collecting
We all encounter art throughout our lives, but becoming a patron of the arts can be intimidating. Where do we even begin? And why should we? In this Gather, we’ll learn about the world of art and art collecting—in an approachable way. What are galleries and how do they work? How can we develop our own relationship with art and artists? How can we start to budget, collect, and understand art as an investment? What is the ecosystem of the art world (including the artist, the gallery, the collector, the advisor, and the auction house), and how do we relate to it? We’ll end our time together with an exhibition tour of a ‘37x21x21’ a project exchange with artists from Vienna and New York.
